Muhammed Eray Keskin is an undergraduate student in the Department of English Language Teaching at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Türkiye. Throughout his studies, he has developed a strong interest in educational research, intercultural communication, and international academic collaboration. His participation in academic projects and presentations has strengthened his research and analytical skills while broadening his perspective on contemporary educational and social issues. As an Erasmus+ research trainee at Graz University of Technology, he aims to gain practical experience in academic research and contribute to interdisciplinary studies within an international environment. His academic interests include language education, research methodology, and the relationship between mobility, society, and sustainable development.
Project at IAS-STS: Train Connections from Türkiye to Austria and the Development of the Turkish Railway System in the 20th and 21st CenturyThis research project examines the historical development and contemporary transformation of the railway system in Türkiye, with particular attention to its connections with Austria and the broader European railway network. The study explores the evolution of railway infrastructure, the role of rail transport in international mobility, and its contribution to sustainable transportation and cross-border cooperation. Through a review of historical and contemporary sources, the project seeks to understand how railway development has shaped economic, social, and cultural relations between Türkiye and Europe. By adopting an interdisciplinary perspective, the research aims to contribute to discussions on sustainable mobility and the future of international railway connections.
