Presentation of the “Biodiverse Edible City of Graz” at the European Forum for Urban Agriculture
14. November 2024
From September 25 to 26, 2024, the final conference of the Horizon 2020 project European Forum for Urban Agriculture(EFUA) took place in the Belgian capital Brussels. The conference, which brought together international players and experts in the field of urban agriculture, was also attended by David Steinwender and representatives of the Forum Urbanes Gärtnern association and the City of Graz.
The event provided an opportunity for intensive exchange and networking: participants were able to gain insights into various forms of urban agriculture and gardening projects from all over Europe and learn about their implementation in different cities. In this context, the focus was also on urban and social gardening, on which IFZ had already carried out its own project.
The “Biodiverse Edible City of Graz” was presented at the conference as the Graz case study of the PLANET4B project. During a short pitch, the Graz representatives explained their vision and approaches for more biodiversity and edibility in urban areas. The feedback and discussions that followed provided valuable input that can be incorporated into the further development of the Graz case study.
