2025-2026

During the COST action VOICES, a knowledge gap of young research investigators (YRIs) was identified in the integration of sex, gender and intersectionality in research. Building on experiences from the successful Summer School “Breaking the Bias: Inspire Diversity in R&I” conceptualized by Clemens Striebing and Anita Thaler (as leaders of the working group “Gender as Research Dimension”) in Athens 2023, another training school and a toolkit will be developed, finally providing all material available online. With the training programme, co-creation workshops, and web-based toolkits NEXT GENDER seeks to 1) help the research community understand the importance of sex & gender as research variables and how they intersect with other variables, 2) provide guidance on how to incorporate them into research and teaching curricula, and 3) address the requirement for gender and intersectionality dimensions in project proposals.
