With this participation process, it has been possible to implement ten concrete measures in a very short time. The spectrum ranges from mobility to energy to social media applications. For example, the first Styrian wide e-car sharing is available to residents of Hartberg. Shared Spaces provide more comfort for pedestrians and cyclists. There is a real-time app for the local city bus.
For the expansion of biomass district heating, smart grid technologies were used and a new business model was also developed. The Hartberger Stadtwerke built a carport solution with an integrated photovoltaic system, which generates green electricity and can easily charge electric vehicles in an environmentally friendly manner.
